Prepared Mind, Healthy Body, and Performance Character
Sports are not just for creating good habits, improving skills, and promoting healthy bodies – but for teaching Performance Character. Participating in sports teaches grit, courage, focus, and the virtues of competition while giving students an opportunity to learn leadership, integrity, humility, and optimism.
OUR PROGRAMS
We are now offering sports programming for all grade levels. They are separated into two distinct groups: Tiny Tritons and Triton Sports. Each group has its own schedule and assigned sports that they are permitted to play.

OUR TEAM
Charles Medley, Jr.
Athletic Director
Coach Medley is in his second year as the Athletic Director at Athlos Academy of Jefferson Parish. He oversees a 12-sport, 3-level athletic program (Triton Sports, Demi-Tritons, and Tiny Tritons) that have a full intramural slate and a slate of exhibition matchups with local charters. The Springfield, IL, native has more than 20 years of experience in education in both the high school and elementary settings, serving in varying roles ranging from coach, teacher, dean, assistant principal, and athletic director.
A lifelong sports participant, he excelled in track and field with a specialty in the high jump. Coach Medley is an original member of the initial Athlos Academy of Jefferson Parish Staff and is very proud to be part of the staff that will bring the community a new and exciting sports experience for all to enjoy.

Amelia Atkins
Volleyball Coach
My name is Coach Atkins and this is my 4th year teaching here at Athlos Academy. This year I am teaching Adapted Physical Education and am the head volleyball coach. I am really looking forward to having these athletes on the volleyball team and can't wait to help them learn and progress! Looking forward to a great season.
